Summer is for fun, but we also try to avoid summer reading loss. My little one is going into Kindergarten but he is already reading Pre-K and K books (with a little help). We decided to challenge him with some harder books and some new stories that he has not heard before. Here are 5 summer books that are good for young readers this summer.
Book 1- Peri and Her Fungi
Peri’s grandma has recently gotten very sick. Peri wants to heal and cure her grandma the only way she believes in—the natural way. Between trying to save her local forest from deforestation and securing an organic fungi remedy for her grandma, time is surely against her. Can she save her grandma and the forest before time runs out? Mother Nature says yes.
Book 2- Archer Otters: Megalodon Outbreak
When the otter community’s food supply suddenly becomes scarce, the Archer Otter trio is forced to explore the dangerous depths of the sea.
Book 3- Peri and Her Plant
Making the world a greener place is not an easy task, but after Peri finds friendship in an unexpected gift, opportunities begin to sprout. Together, Peri, Lavie, and Snotty will heal the Earth. Will you join them?
Book 5- The Unsinkable Gus Davis
Gus Davis is a French bulldog who thinks he can do anything—even swim. Bean is Gus’s human best friend who thinks bulldogs aren’t designed for the water.
Who is right? It turns out, they both are!
All it takes is a persistent bulldog and a creative human friend to prove that, with a little practice and adaptation, anything is possible. The Unsinkable Gus Davis is a playful story about figuring things out, staying safe around water, and laughing along the way!
