Picture this. An easy shopping trip for back to school clothes, done in one stop, and it doesn’t break the bank…. It sounds like a dream, right? Well believe it! I have four kids, and I was able to do my back to school shopping at Once Upon A Child for less than $130!
This week I ventured out on my annual back to school shopping trip. My first stop is always Once Upon A Child. This trip was no exception and I successfully outfitted all four of my children with at least 4 outfits each, including NEW shoes (never worn before!), for less than $130. I also managed to get this done in less than an hour. Thanks to the new back to school section at my local Once Upon A Child, my back to school clothes shopping is DONE!
I’m kind of a OUAC pro. I can navigate the store and fill my cart in no time! But if you’re new to Once Upon A Child, plan to take a bit more time as you soak in all the amazingness that they offer. They carry boy and girl sizes ranging from birth (including preemie!) through size 20 youth for kids. Thousands of brands, all under one roof! What that translates for me is I can shop for all my children in one spot.
My Once Upon A Child Story
When I was pregnant with my first, my husband and I made the decision that I would become a stay at home mom. I remember being so excited and a bit nervous at the same time. I knew babies came with an expense, including needing new clothes often because they grow so fast. I talked with a friend whose kids always looked great and often wore designer brands. I asked her how she did it. She immediately told me about Once Upon a Child where they sell gently used name brand children’s clothing (including school uniforms), toys, books, and equipment for a fraction of the original price. I was like “sign me up!”
Since that discussion, I have been a loyal shopper. They have saved me time, money, and sanity. For example, my oldest daughter outgrew a pair of shoes (Frozen themed crocs!), and she was heartbroken and rather insistent that her foot would still fit (think stepsisters in Cinderella). On my next visit, I miraculously found a new pair in her size. I was thrilled and she was over the moon with joy. Then there was the time in November my son suddenly needed a new swim suit (perpetual growth spurt). The big box stores didn’t have swimwear in stock, but Once Upon A Child did!
Often people will tell me how my kids’ clothes always look so nice or think that I spend a lot on clothes. Even my mother-in-law commented on how fashion-forward the kids are, and how she can’t imagine our clothing budget. That’s when I educated her about my go-to place for kids’ clothes!
Buy Back Clothes
Children grow so fast. Not only does Once Upon A Child allow my bank account to keep up with the never-ending growth spurts in my house, but they buy back outgrown clothes, shoes, equipment, toys, and books that are in good condition! I love this for so many reasons. I get cash on the spot that I can use to purchase new clothes or go get a pedicure with. Also, they have a generous return policy. If something doesn’t fit, no worries! Just return. So, you can buy at the fraction of the cost, and you can sell them back when your children have outgrown them, and you can return or exchange if they don’t fit.
