Book Review:

What a sweet book full of reassurance that making friends is possible with practical tips and tricks about how to strengthen and maintain friendships despite obstacles. This book is an easy to read, interactive guide for young girls all about making friends that has opportunity to start conversations with their grownup about their experiences with friends. The book covers how to make friends when you feel lonely, when you are hurt by someone you think of as a friend, when you have been left out, when someone doesn’t like you or when you think you have been lied to. It’s not just practical for young girls, I appreciated the reassurance and reminders of how to deal with some of these challenging scenarios in friendship.

Book Application:

As a mom of two little girls, the thought of their friendships is constantly on my mind. Not just between each other (I pray that they are best friends for all time), but with their classmates and neighbors. I have experienced the heartbreak of the end of a meaningful friendship and would not wish the experience on anyone. This book will serve as a great way to allow my daughters to gain confidence in seeking meaningful, long lasting friends with my encouragement and guidance as they want it.

This is an absolute must for parents of young girls. Whether your young daughter wants your guidance through this book or not, she will learn how to be a great friend to others and how to deal with difficulties she faces with her friends in the years to come.

The authors have also written “I’ll Be There (But I’ll Be Wearing Sweatpants)” that is the adult woman’s guide to navigating friendships, and I may have it added to my Amazon Wishlist!
