We all know that change doesnโ€™t happen overnight. It happens gradually โ€“ day by day, week by week, month by month. And now that a new year stands before us, we are challenging you to gradually build up your life. The monthly Build Up Challenge is an effort to focus on small changes throughout each day, week and month, and building up these small actions over time will lead to significant changes in our lives.

At Orlando Mom, we started 2024 off with intentionally building up positive habits that will help our well-being and allow us to build up our families and homes too.

Each month, we are going to share and challenge you to work on five habits for the month โ€“ one for each of these areas of life:

  1. Mindfulness
  2. Physical Wellness
  3. Emotional Wellness
  4. Family
  5. Home

It is our sincerest hope that you will join us and other moms throughout Central Florida by reading about these monthly habits and finding ways that work for you to implement them into your life.

We will be sharing reminders on our Facebookย andย Instagram for these habits. Weโ€™ll ask how you are doing tackling each challenge and we want to hear from you so that we can share your progress and help motivate others.

Check out each challenge for the year so far:

THE MAY CHALLENGE!

Mindfulness โ€“ Watch the Sunrise

There is so much science around morning sunlight and how good it is for our bodies. In addition to improving sleep patterns, morning sunlightย provides essential vitamin D, strengthens the immune system, reduces stress, and supports mental health.

Sunlight also sets circadian rhythms! Bright morning light has a profound impact on our circadian rhythms, influencing hormone production and sleep cycles.

Physical Wellness โ€“ Do a Lunge Challenge

Join us for a lunge challenge this month! Here is a handy little calendar you can follow along to!

Emotional Wellness โ€“ Find your comfort show/book

Take some me time to just chill by yourself and enjoy a good book or a new show! Everyone needs some down time to just “BE”. Join us in our book club and find your new fave author!

Family โ€“ Schedule weekly activities w/ Family

Try to spend some intentional time with the family this month! With it being the last month of school, there is A LOT going on, but, being intentional with our family time is a great way to feel connected with them. Remember: quality over quantity!

Home โ€“ Clean Your Baseboards

While I am not the biggest fan of CLEANING,ย this month I am going to clean all of the baseboards in the WHOLE house! The easiest way is to grab a magic eraser…so instead of one room at a time when I clean, I am going to just do them all at once!

This is it! this is the Building Up Challenge for May!

Let’s work on the Building Up Challenge together until May 31! Then, weโ€™ll be back with 5 new habits for June. Remember to comment on our social media posts with how you are doing, we’d love to encourage you and share with others too!

Remember, You’re Doing Great Mama!
