If you’re anything like me, you probably cringe at the thought of your toddler ingesting unnecessary sugar this Valentine’s Day. The excitement alone surrounding a special day at school is enough to have them bouncing off the walls all day long. For the sanity of their teachers, and for the other parents, I opt for candy-free valentines for my toddler’s class.
You’re my main squeeze!
Last year, I made the valentines using a festive font and Microsoft Word. After I printed them on card stock, I cut them out with decorative scissors and stapled them onto GoGo Squeez Applesauce. I can’t say for sure, but I am guessing they were a hit among the one-year-olds.
Sip, Sip, Hooray! It’s Valentine’s Day!
This year I kept coming back to the krazy straw valentines. They are just too cute! I bought 18 krazy straws at the Dollar Tree for $3 — but you can also buy them in bulk on Amazon. I found a new festive font and, again, made the valentines in Word. After I cut them out, I used a hole punch for the two holes and put them on the straw. Hopefully the kiddos will have a little bit more fun drinking their milk at lunchtime. For the teachers’ valentines, I am half tempted to put them on a bottle of wine, but I think a Starbucks gift card would be more appropriate. I’m sure after celebrating Valentine’s Day with a class full of toddlers, they would probably prefer the wine. I know I would!
Here are a few more cute, candy-free ideas that I’m tucking away for future years:

You make my heart glow
Happy Valentine’s Day!
These are too cute, Kendra. I was also born in Indiana–down south in Corydon. LIved in Lebanon for a number of years before heading to Wisconsin in 7th grade. Happy Valentining!
My 13-month old is a picky eater but she inhales Go Go Squeez like its her job. These are such a great idea. I am going to make Valentine’s for her and the 2 other girls that go to her sitter. And I just pinned them on my Mommy board on Pinterest. Yay!
