UPDATE: Snackbitches has officially partnered with Orlando Mom to schedule, host, (and maybe) sponsor these meetups!

Coffee & Connection is a day in which moms in Orlando can come together to either co-work if they’re WFH moms, connect to meet other moms in the area, or just chat because it works that day. I often do all three.

I pick coffee places all over Orlando to help bring together moms who just want to get out of the house. At first, I would pick at random and convenience, now I’m picking based on Orlando Coffee Culture. I love what they’re doing and will go down that list for a little while.

Coffee & Connection back story

Last year, Eryn, the owner and brain behind Orlando Mom came up with the idea of meeting once a week. This started as an executive team meeting with Allison (executive assistant), the rest of the team, and myself meeting every so often. Soon it became a meeting in which only Eryn, Allison, and myself started attending. Here we would brainstorm content ideas, help Eryn figure out events (Orlando Mom hosts five major events a year), and just figure out how to help other businesses (including Orlando Mom) be successful.

When the holidays hit, we had to push pause on our meetings, but with the promise we would restart at the beginning of the year.

Coffee & Connection in 2024

Coffee & Connection in 2024 looks a little different than last year. This year we have opened it up to the rest of the Orlando Mom team and we’re even opening it up to all Orlando Moms that want to join.

Check out where we’ve been so far in 2024!

We will continue our Friday Coffee & Connection in February!

Paris Bahn Mi located in the Mills District

An adorable Vietnamese bakery that is infused with French culture. Their name, Paris Bahn Mi, comes from a delicious meeting of cultures. The story begins in mid-19th century Vietnam, then part of French Indochina. French baguettes arrived, becoming a food staple by the 20th century. But in the 1950s, something magical happened in Saigon. Vietnamese ingenuity took the humble baguette and transformed it into bánh mì, a unique sandwich brimming with local flavors.

UPDATE: This coffee shop has closed its doors.

The BreakRoom located in Winter Garden

The BreakRoom is a large space perfect for meeting people, coworking, or bringing your little one along. It’s located and run by The Crossings Church. It is a non-profit that helps people come together and help each other do the most basic thing, “drink a cup of coffee.”

Foxtail Coffee Co in Packing District

Foxtail Coffee Co originated in Winter Park, FL and it’s not secret it’s one of my favorite Florida coffees. When I heard that they opened up their cutest location in the Packing District, I had to go. The neon lights, the curved building, everything about it is just so aesthetically pleasing. Also, I got to meet a very amazing mom, and it’s because of her Orlando Mom decided to open up Coffee & Connection to the rest of Orlando Moms.

Birchwood Coffee Co

Birchwood Coffee Co in Apopka

Birchwood is a favorite of mine. I first found them because I needed something to do while I was home with the two littles. Even though they were in Apopka and I in Winter Garden, I’m glad I went. Birchwood feels like home with various family members chipping in to support the coffee shop, it’s exactly what you need if you want to work, catch up with friends, or bring your little to just have a coffee in peace.

Filigree in Hamlin

Filigree in Hamlin

Filigree in Hamlin

Filigree just may be my favorite coffee shop (shh! Don’t tell the other coffee shops). The owner is so nice, the baristas are the kindest — I even got to go behind the counter and film him decorate a coffee! Shoutout to Josh!

Located inside Home State Brewing Co in Hamlin, they’re location is topnotch. I want Filigree to have their own place, but Home State also has the best indoor and outdoor seating. It’s definitely a place that encourages you to stay a while. Grab a cup of coffee at 10:00 am work a little or hang out, and then stick around for lunch and grab a local beer.

Framework in Mills

Framework in the Mills District

Framework was a pleasant surprise. First of all it has its own parking in the Mills District, which already gives it a plus! Secondly, they source KOS coffee, which is delicious. On top of that it’s full of local artwork and products.

KOS Coffee in Maitland

KOS Coffee or Choose KOS was cute and very friendly. A little small, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in good coffee and treats catered by Buttermilk Bakery. It’s a sweet place and the owner is always available to just hang out if you want.

Lineage in Mills

Lineage in the Mills District

With three locations, this coffee shop is always packed. After going just once, I can see why. We were there for about three hours and the amount of people that came in and out of the coffee shop was incredible. So many people working, others grabbing their to-go orders, and a large group of moms (us) monopolized half the coffee shop. This is a place I’ll definitely be bringing out-of-towners.

New General in Winter Park

New General in Winter Park

New General in Winter Park

New General makes me want to live in Winter Park. It’s a coffee shop meant to hang out in for a long time. The inside space is cozy, with a high-top, comfortable seating, and a few tables. But the outside is what steals the show with an extra large patio seating and you can see all the people passing by as they start (or end) their day.

Cups & Pups (NOW) in College Park

Cups & Pups

Cups & Pups in (NOW) College Park

When I first pulled up to Cups & Pups I was already dreading it. It was TINNY! And of course it being on Edgewater there was no parking. But NOW they’re moving to bigger location in College Park. I wonder if it had anything to do with the large group of moms that visited in April.

Anyways, this coffee shop was AMAZING! Their dirty chai is the best I have ever had; truly! The staff was incredibly nice and the regulars were even nicer. It’s clear that Cups & Pups have built a nice community that supports them. And I hope it stays that way!

Quigley in Sanford

Quigley in Sanford

Quigley reached out to us to join them for a Coffee & Connection. And I’m glad they did. Everyone was so nice and the location is HUGE! I wish I lived in Sanford just for them. Actually, they’re going to turn into my stop for when I go North.

Quigley is a super cool coffee shop with amazing coffee and baristas who know what they’re doing. And they also have a skateboard shop to the side. This coffee shop is incredibly instagrammable and just amazing.

Stemma in Downtown

Stemma in Downtown

Stemma in Downtown

Stemma has a special place in my heart because the owners are Nicaraguan (where I’m from). And they used to source their coffee beans from a farm in Nicaragua. Unfortunately, due to the political

situation they can’t do that anymore.

Fortunately, for them though, they still know what they’re doing and can make any coffee bean taste great!

If you’re ever in downtown go to Stemma. They are truly the best and their pastries are chef’s kiss!

The Monroe in Downtown

The Monroe in Downtown

The Monroe is a stylish restaurant that is GREAT for date night. But they also opened up a little coffee cart to the side and you can use the lounge to sip your coffee and work or just hang out with some girlfriends.

Super cool vibes and just a great ambiance. This is a place to have a proper coffee date.

Botanical House in New Smyrna Beach

Botanical House in New Smyrna Beach

Botanical House in New Smyrna Beach

This is the first Coffee & Connection at the beach and let me tell you, it was SURFtastic! OK, the actual coffee house isn’t surf-related at all. In fact, it was just a local coffee shop that has regulars and great seating to work or hang out. And they have a store on the side with lots of things (mugs, art, kitchen ware) from local vendors.

This was cute place to stop by and have coffee before heading toward the beach. And it’s only seven minutes away from Flagler Ave.

Other than Filigree, I go to this coffee shop the most. It’s conveniently located for me and I love I get to speak Spanish and no one bats an eye. Also, I really do love Colombian coffee. their flavored are pretty good (try the Dulce de Leche one); but so is their black coffee (the Campesino coffee is like a Cuban coffee but in a 12 or 16 oz mug!).

Also, I love how sweet they baristas are with the kids.

Fable Coffee & Pastries

Fable Coffee & Pastries

Fable Coffee & Pastries is SO cute, and more importantly, the staff is top notch. They really know their coffee and take time to serve it to you.

I have to be honest; I’m not into quick coffee shops that want you out the door as soon as you walk in. I like to settle; I like to get comfortable. And Fable does just that.

Also, true to its name, it has a sort of whimsical (but still modern) vibe that I’m digging.

If you find yourself in East Orlando, you have to go to Fable. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

This one is a favorite from our contributor, Christina. 🙂
