A Day in My MOX Shoes

Ever since I became a mom it seems like I have been on the hunt for the perfect simple, comfy, and polished wardrobe staples. In short, the search has not been easy. It is hard to get away from the jeans-and-a-t-shirt uniform, but you know I don’t have a lot of time (or patience or money) for much more than that. What else can a mama do? Wear some super cute shoes of course! So I was excited to hear about a trendy, mom-owned brand of my favorite style of shoe: the classic and versatile ballet flat. But these are a modern, colorful take on the plain old flat.

When my friend and owner of OMB, Kristi, told me about MOX, I immediately had flashbacks to the plastic jelly shoes I ran around in on the elementary school playground (yes, I was lucky enough to be a kid at the height of awesome 90s fashion). They are made of rubber, so are they going to be stiff and uncomfortable? Are they going to give me the dreaded foot sweat (um, yuck)? I had my doubts, but her love for them told me I had to try them out—and I am so happy I did! Here is a day in my blueberry MOX.

Morning Playdate

Since these are the epitome of easy-on shoes, throwing on a simple outfit and my super cute blue MOX is an easy way to look like I spent more than five minutes getting ready. They look more polished than flip-flops and, honestly, they are easier to chase a runaway child in. Oh the life and priorities of a toddler mom. 

Doctor’s Appointment

These flats are still comfy—even on my pregnant-girl feet, which is saying something—so the tot and I are running to her doctor’s appointment. Surprisingly, they are much more bendable than I thought they would be, not at all like the plastic sandals I was afraid of. 

Lunch with Mom

I am heading home for a quick wardrobe change before I go out for a little lunch with my mom! The MOX are still going strong, and are really cute with a little dress.

Of course, my mom asked about my new shoes and I just had to share their backstory. I love supporting mom-owned businesses, so I was excited to find out that MOX was started by two stay at home moms. Afternoon Play

Since MOX are totally waterproof, they are great for playing in the kiddie pool in the backyard. I don’t have to worry about ruining my shoes, so I can focus on chasing down my daughter and spraying her with the hose—you know, proper mom behavior.

If MOX can make it through my day and still keep me feeling cute and comfortable, then they can make it through anyone’s day.
