Diaper Need Awareness Week is September 8th – 14th. It is a Nationwide Awareness Week to shed light on a basic need that so many people struggle with. Unfortunately, WIC, food stamps and other government help do not cover the cost of diapers and wipes. For the average family, it can cost up to $100 per week for diapers and supplies for babies.
#DiaperNeed is getting some serious attention from Orange County, the City of Orlando, Winter Garden, and Winter Park. All have declared September 8-14 as Diaper Needs Awareness Week.
The Diaper Bank of Central Florida is a community organization based in Orange County that collects diapers and distributes them to people in need throughout the community. They help families in Orange and Seminole Counties and soon expanding to Osceola County.
During Diaper Need Awareness Week, you can donate diapers at several locations around town. There are also several fundraisers going on to help the Diaper Bank raise funds… 31 bags, California Pizza Kitchen, Macaroni Grill, Jamberry Nails, Yankee Candle and more.
For detailed information on diaper donation locations, check out the Diaper Bank of Central Floridaย Facebook page or the website, www.diaperbankofcentralflorida.org.
