Help Me Grow, a Heart of Florida United Way program, is here to support parents in Central Florida by offering free screening of kids, ages 0 to 8, for behavioral and developmental issues. The program then helps connect families in Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Polk counties with essential local services — ensuring that children receive the support they need early on.
The program is open to all, with no income or immigration restrictions, and families can work with Spanish-speaking representatives. Each family is assigned a representative who stays with them until they no longer need support, ensuring consistent help in navigating early childhood services. Help Me Grow supports children up to 8 years old, recognizing that some issues only become apparent when a child starts school. The program also advocates for parents, helping them understand their rights to state and federally mandated school services.
Screenings can be requested by contacting the 211 Information & Referral Line (dial 211, text your zip code to 898-211, or chat online at www.hfuw.org/get-help, or request a screening online at https://helpmegrowfl.org.
Help Me Grow is a statewide program sponsored by the statewide nonprofit, The Children’s Forum, and the State of Florida, Division of Early Learning. Additional grant funds are secured by each local affiliate in support of the services offered.
