The more I’ve come to Disney World, the more I’ve realized that people have no clue you can bring babies (and I’m talking BABY babies) on rides! I would never say I’m an expert in all things Walt Disney World, but I may be someone who has brought all her babies to Disney World, currently on my fourth Disney baby. I’m here to share with you ALL the rides at ALL the Walt Disney World Theme Parks that your entire family can go on, including not just your newborn baby, but also some you could go on while pregnant as well!
Disney World Parks
Disney has the most inclusive rides for the whole family to go on, baby or pregnant. More specifically, Magic Kingdom will have the MOST options available to you, so let’s start there!
Magic Kingdom
- First ride up, Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress. This is more of a show than a ride. But it’s something that you can at any point in your pregnancy at any time of the year and you can bring the baby and the whole family along for the show! This ride is a great option to relax and cool off your body and feed the baby. It’s more of an experience than anything else, but it boasts about 21 minutes of relaxation and cool-off time, which is important for pregnant women and new mommies to babies!
- Next up, let’s talk about Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin! This is a ride everyone in the family can get on! The kids will have fun playing this immersive game while you can either play along or sit back and enjoy the ride and watch your family! I tend to either hold the baby in my lap or keep the baby in my baby carrier on this ride when I bring her along with us.
- Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, is SUCH an underrated ride! This is a ride that will take you around the entirety of Tomorrowland and give you a LOT of history. It is very relaxing and extremely beautiful to ride specifically at dawn when the sun is setting. I enjoy going on this ride to relax and feed the baby since it’s about 10 minutes long. The kids enjoy this ride because it goes INSIDE of Space Mountain — how cool!
- This next ride may shock a lot of people, but pregnant women and babies can go on and enjoy is Astro Orbiter. This ride is SO much fun, but be aware that when the ride ends there’s a loud sound as the carts descend, and it may scare the baby (or at least it did mine). This ride personally made me nervous the first time I took my baby on it because I felt it was a little fast for my liking. Now I keep my baby in the carrier facing forward and I find it a lot better. And she enjoys it too!
- You can also take everyone in the family onto Mad Tea Party, I take the baby in the carrier in case my party likes to spin the tea pots a little fast, but the baby really enjoys this ride! Riding this pregnant IS an option, but just be aware it could make you feel nauseous.
- The classic Dumbo the Flying Elephant is next on my list. Baby will LOVE this ride and you can comfortably hold the baby or keep them in a carrier. I also really enjoyed this ride pregnant! PRO TIP: This ride has an indoor playground your child can play in as long as they’d like! This was a FANTASTIC option while pregnant to relax in the AC and to feed the baby as my children got to run off some energy!
- Under the Sea – Journey of The Little Mermaid is a ride I enjoyed going on pregnant and taking the baby. It’s nice and cool inside with lots of fun sounds and colors the baby enjoys watching. There are a lot of colors, but it’s also a nice ride to breastfeed.
- The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh was such a fun and cute ride! When I first went on this ride with my firstborn I kind of freaked out because I didn’t know the ride bounces at one point, so be prepared for that! But it is absolutely safe for everyone in the whole family to go on!
- Prince Charming Regal Carrousel is safe for baby to go on. But you have to be seated on a bench with the baby, they cannot go on a moving animal. So if all sit-still seats are filled, you have to opt-out or wait for the next ride. When you’re pregnant it’s safe to ride on the horses!
- Mickey’s PhilharMagic isn’t a ride, it’s a show, but this is another option for the whole family to take a break from the heat and enjoy the AC to relax and cool off. This is also another option to feed the little one!
Peter Pan’s Flight is a ride the whole family can go on and the baby may enjoy. It’s dark inside and a slow-moving ride, but the ride itself isn’t very long. - It’s a Small World is a Disney classic the whole family can absolutely go on, and it’s a whopping 10 minutes long! Baby will really enjoy this ride as the music and moving people are fun to listen to and watch. You can also breastfeed though I find my baby gets a little distracted.
- Haunted Mansion is a ride everyone can go on, just be aware it can be a bit spooky for littles, especially at the beginning.
- Pirates of the Caribbean can be enjoyed by everyone, including pregnant women, just be aware there is a small drop that can scare some toddlers, and the environment is dark and loud and can also scare some smaller children.
- Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room is another show that littles will really enjoy, especially babies as there’s fun music and moving objects for them to look at. It’s another AC option to get a break from the heat.
- The Magic Carpets of Aladdin is essentially the same as Dumbo just with a different theme, and can be enjoyed by everyone!
- Let’s touch on one that’s not necessarily a ride per se, more of a transportation, the Walt Disney World Railroad. You can treat this as a ride, as it goes around the outskirts of Magic Kingdom, but everyone is welcome on this transportation! And it can be an option to both breastfeed and have little ones nap.
- Lastly at Magic Kingdom we have Jungle Cruise. This ride is on the longer side but it’s fun and can be a hoot! I enjoy going on this ride with the baby to nurse but she also enjoys moving around on the boat. Depending on the cast member who is giving the tour, this can be a really funny ride to go on!
Epcot
- The Seas with Nemo & Friends is very similar to Little Mermaid at Magic Kingdom, except it takes you “down to the deep blue world!” Parents and kids of all ages will love this ride and see all the ocean life!
- Living with the Land is about a 15-minute boat ride that teaches you about, you guessed it, our land! This is especially a great ride to go on during the holidays when they put lights up! And it’s a favorite for breastfeeding.
- Journey into Imagination with Figment is a slow-moving ride, and this is one of my toddlers’ favorites as it has a lot of silly humor within it! Just be cautious that toward the end of the ride, everything goes dark and a loud sound/air blows at you — so this might scare some children/babies.
- Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is a ride EVERYONE can go on! This is a ride that requires 3D glasses, but I personally opt-out from wearing them and enjoy the ride just as much as when I do wear them.
- Frozen Ever After is similar to the Pirates ride at Magic Kingdom, except it’s Frozen-themed — so the kids may enjoy this more! There is a small drop towards the end and it will capture your picture! So be sure to either bring your MagicBand+ along with you or take note of the time of your ride so you can go to a PhotoPass and request it!
- Spaceship Earth is last on our list for Epcot. This is a cool ride that takes you through time here on Earth, and kids will especially enjoy the fun interactive games you can play once you get off the ride!
Hollywood Studios
- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is safe for everyone to go on! I like holding the baby in the baby carrier for this one just because it can get a little wobbly for my taste, so be sure to hold on tight!
- Toy Story Mania! Is similar to the Buzz ride at Magic Kingdom, but definitely harder to play while holding a baby! This ride can also jerk around so be sure when it’s moving to hold on tight!
Hollywood Studios has mostly shows and everyone can go to those. And that’s why there’s less rides.
Animal Kingdom
- Triceratop Spin is next to the playground and similar to Dumbo in Animal Kingdom, so everyone can safely ride this ride!
- Wildlife Express Train is a hidden gem not many people know about! It’s a train that takes you to a petting zoo area where you can pet/brush pig, sheep, and goats!
- Kilimanjaro Safaris is safe for baby to go on but is NOT recommended to go on while pregnant due to it being on tough terrain and is super bumpy!
- Na’vi River Journey is a slow boat ride safe for everyone in the family to go on!
Animal Kingdom is personally one of my favorite parks to go to for a variety of reasons. They have a playground my toddler is obsessed with and they have fans throughout, PRO TIP: You can bring food into the playground area to sit, relax, and eat while your child plays! The playground only has one entrance and exit so you don’t have to stress about losing your child while you try to relax for a bit! Animal Kingdom also has many shows that are inclusive of everyone in the family to go into!
It’s clear that the Disney Parks are incredibly inclusive of pregnant mothers and families with young infants. From stroller parking to many family bathrooms to changing diapers or go as a family. I’ve taken newborns from six months old to toddlers and older. Whether it’s your first visit or you’ve gotten multiple times, it’s good to have a list for your Disney trip to ensure that everyone can have a great time.
Something I didn’t mention in this article is that all the rides offer rider switch or rider swap. This option makes visiting Disney World with a baby enjoyable for the whole family as you can wait in line together and then when one person comes out the next parent can go right on. And most of the time they’ll the whole party do it again so that the parent waiting doesn’t have to go alone.
I love Disney, and as an annual passholder family, we visit Disney a lot. We Disney vacation all year and have enjoyed going to Disney World with babies. They get just as excited as the older kids.
Disney offers incredible options for the whole family so I say BRING YOUR BABY and enjoy Disney with an infant!
