Our family loves Goldfish Swim School!

We have done other styles of swim lessons with our girls and never felt like they made much progress. Often times other swim lessons have many kids with one instructor, leaving your kid with less time with the professional. Or lessons require the parent to be in the water and their progress heavily relies on the parent being the one to ensure that the child is making progress. The other lessons we have done have been in dingy community centers with so many other people there for a swim or exercise class.

The first thing that you notice when you walk through the doors at Goldfish, aside from the warm greetings, is the fun atmosphere. The themed decor immediately puts little ones at ease. The waiting room is full of fun details that my kids enjoy each week. There is a small shop in case you have forgotten anything, a fun reception desk for check in and class changes, a snack bar, fish tank, a little trinket to take home and seats for parents to watch the lessons.

As you move into the space, you will find that they have shampoo in the shower areas for use after lessons, a blow dry bar and swim suit dryers (because nothing is worse than trying to transport a wet swimsuit home), Goldfish Swim has everything you need.

They. Have. Thought. Of. Everything.

However, the most significant selling point for our family is the play based style of swim instruction. Kids are all in small classes, no bigger than 4, and each gets plenty of time one on one with the instructor. And because of each activity the instructor has the child preform, many times they do not realize just how much they are learning. Each movement has a purpose – getting them comfortable in the water, rolling over so their faces are out of the water, keeping their eyes open to see where they are going, holding their breath, keeping water out of their nose, etc. – the lessons are always present and ever changing. By the second lesson, our youngest was retrieving pool rings off the bottom of the pool with ease.

Both of our girls have learned SO much in just a few short months of lessons, and with the number of home pools in Florida and the fun pool in our neighborhood, we are just so thankful for the confidence Goldfish Swim School has given us that our babies are safe in the water and the girls’ knowledge of how to act safely in and around a pool.
