Florida is often tagged as “Endless Summer” and Orlando is called the capital of Theme Parks! With that said summer + pool + adrenaline = water park!! With so many options out there, we’ve made a list of the top water parks in Orlando!
My top three Water Parks in Orlando
Volcano Bay
I’ll start with Volcano Bay since I went very recently. We had an amazing time!! It was great for the whole family, although my kindergartner was too short for a few rides, we still had plenty to do and ride on. Our favorite was TeAwa the Fearless River, a high speed torrent river, we went on it 4 times in a row. What I absolutely loved about the park was the fact that you don’t have to wait long lines for an attraction, they give you a wristband when you come in and you basically tap on the ride you want to go on, do a virtual queue and when it’s your turn, the Tapu Tapu as they call it, notifies you. We spent the whole day there and since we’re not a fan of overpriced park food, we brought our own in a small lunchbox and also brought chips in a beach bag, we had no issues at all bringing it in. The only downside for me was getting there, you have to park at the Universal parking garage, go through security and then take a shuttle to the park. The hassle was worth it in the end, but it’s good to keep that in mind that you’ll spend at least 30-45 minutes from parking to park entrance. They get an A+ for customer experience and cleanliness as far as indoor waterparks in Orlando go.
Aquatica
Second on the list is Aquatica, I went last year with friends and had a blast. Parking was easy but they were a bit more restrictive about allowing food inside the park. My favorite ride was the Reef Plunge Water Slide, not only is the slide over 330 feet, toward the end you zoom past an underwater habitat. It was amazing!! What I didn’t love about the park were the long waiting times, waiting over an hour to ride an attraction when your daylight time is limited is not ideal. B for customer experience and cleanliness.
Omni Resort at Championsgate
While the Omni isn’t an actual stand alone waterpark, it’s definitely a contender on this list. We went 3 times last year and the kids loved it so much that they keep asking to go again. This resort has the perfect balance between luxury, relaxation and fun! It has 5 pools: Zero entry kids pool with family slide, wave pool, family pool with big slide, lazy river and an adult pool that’s perfect if you want to have a little escape from all the action. The great thing about this resort is that if you don’t want to stay overnight, they also offer resort passes for a one day experience.
Other Water Parks in Orlando
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is one of two Water Parks in Walt Disney World Resort (Disney’s blizzard beach is currently closed for refurbishment). It features attractions for the whole family, from fast waterslides to a children’s area with pint-sized raft rides. They have 6-foot waves in the Surf Pool and a shark tank with real sharks! This water park is the place to go for aquatic thrill-seekers of all ages, so bring the whole family because in addition to great waterslides, you’ll love the lazy river, wave pool and children’s play area!
Legoland Water Park
Splash and slide with a day of fun in the sun with a wave pool, lazy river, 14 slides, and other interactive LEGO play areas! Sounds like fun right? Our family is very into LEGO and we’ve been wanting to go here for ages but haven’t been able to yet. One of these days we’ll take the plunge and make the drive over there!
Island H2O Water Park
H2O is considered Orlando’s newest waterpark and it has 20 attractions and rides. Attractions are rated by thrill level so there’s something for everyone. They have different events during the summer and they also offer seasonal passes.
Coco Key Hotel and Water Park
The Coco Key Hotel and Water Park is another great place where you have the option of going to the water park and staying overnight on site. It has a 54,000 sq. ft. canopy covered and outdoor water park, 14 water slides and rides, 6,500 sq. ft. state-of-the-art arcade and an interactive water-filled jungle gym. Perfect for kids of all ages!
