We had the privilege of attending Goldfish Swim School with our 2 year old, Adella. She is our most spirited child but also the baby of the family. In typical birth order fashion, she is spoiled to the MAX. She gets what she wants and my husband can’t stand to see her cry. We had already experienced swim lessons with our older children but in a completely different way. Learning to swim was definitely the ultimate goal but this time we wanted her to enjoy the process and not be white knuckling it ourselves while we watched. We were looking for a kid-approved swim school, and thankfully, Goldfish Swim School was just that!
From the get-go, there was a focus on play and fun. The instructor taught skills and challenged our toddler’s comfort zone, but she was having a good time doing it. This was a welcomed change from the swim classes we tried with a different company for our two older kids – which included prying my oldest daughter out of my hands while my husband couldn’t even watch, and bribing my son with anything I could to get him in the water. Adella loved Goldfish! From the princess pool toy to the job well done ribbon, my daughter would excitedly clap and cheer when we were en route to swim class.
Fitting in swimming lessons to our already busy schedule was intimidating at first. Thankfully, once there, this mom-of-three could rest as ease. The facility is stocked with everything you could think of. There are showers with shampoo, changing rooms, machines to dry the bathing suits, blow dryers, and heck – even a towel I purchased on the cheap one week when I forgot ours at home! We could zip into swim lessons and then leave with a fresh kiddo to continue on our day without having to go home to clean up. I can not express how convenient and amazing all the details are.
