April’s Book of the Month is Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney!
Book Summary:
This was my first novel by Alice Feeney and I totally understand the hype about her writing. She created this world that I was sucked into and I finished this story in about 24 hours. It was creepy and scary and kept me on my toes. I love when I can look back and see all of the clues I missed along the way (although I did suspect one of the big reveals before it happened, yay me!) and see how that new knowledge literally changes everything I thought I knew about the characters and the story. I hope you love this one as much as I did!
Daisy Darker and her family arrive to their Nana’s cottage to celebrate her 80th birthday. Nana is sure that she is going to die this year because of a palm reading she had, so she is adamant that the whole family participate in the evening. When the tide comes in, the family is essentially trapped at the cottage until morning. After a surprise guest arrives at the cottage, Nana is found dead in the kitchen along with a poem about the Darker family. Not long after, another family member is dead and the surviving members of the family must figure out what is happening at Nana’s cottage before low tide. The killer leaves the surviving family home videos along the way that they hope will help them solve this murder mystery. The twists keep coming in this book and the final twist changes everything… for everyone.
