July’s Book of the Month is Meet Me at the Lake by Carley Fortune!
This one is on our list of ultimate beach reads because it is a cute beach read and it made me feel like I was sitting on a far off beach.
Book Summary:
Fern Brookbanks is back at the resort she grew up at after the death of her mother. The lakeside resort holds both good and bad memories for Fern. Fern finds herself dealing with the resort’s declining bookings and revenue. She wants to keep her mother’s legacy alive but worries she doesn’t have the skills to turn the business around. The answer to her worries comes in the form of a business man who appears at the resort looking for her mother. Will Baxter. Too bad Fern and Will have a complicated past and she is hesitant to let him help. The last time she walked away from Will Baxter, her life felt incomplete. And they only spent 24 hours together. 10 years ago. When Will failed to come to the resort a year after their day, Fern was devastated. But as they grow closer, the truth about his life over the last 10 years comes to light and Fern has to decide if she can forgive Will for breaking her heart, let him back into her heart and help save her mother’s legacy.
Book Pacing Guide:
I listened to this on audiobook and absolutely loved the narrators performance. It is about 10 hours and because I listened to it on 2x speed, I was able to finish in about a day. I do love my earbuds because they are comfortable and small – the lilac color of them is also easy to love. The physical book is 336 pages long, so it should be an easy read!
