June’s Book of the Month is The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren!

Green background with green leaves, pink and white flowers behind text. When book club learned that Christina & Lauren were coming to Orlando on their book tour, many of us grabbed tickets to the event… so it should come as no surprise that this is the book of June. Many of us have likely already devoured it after meeting them.

I’ve been to one other book release event and this one was just as lovely as the other. It was a busy event and difficult to all meet up, but I do hope that everyone who went had a good time and that you were able to fill your bookshelves at home with more signed copies of their books!

We’d love to see your pictures with Christina & Lauren in book club if you’d like to share!

If you loved Meghan Quinn’s most recent release, Bridesmaid for Hire, you will also enjoy The Paradise Problem! They’re both going on our Ultimate List of Beach Reads!

The Paradise Problem Summary:

West and Anna got married in college so that they could have cheap housing. They met through his brother and the two spent their years living together not really getting to know the other. When West moves out, Anna signs what she thinks are their divorce papers and the go on about their lives. But almost five years later, West shows up on Anna’s doorstep. He needs her help. His sister is getting married and his family is beginning to ask questions about his wife. That’s right… they’re still married! Turns out, Anna signed an agreement to stay married to West legally for 5 years so that he can get his inheritance. West learned that by getting married to Anna he accidentally triggered a cause in his inheritance that mandates he stays married to receive all that money. West is the grandson of the founder of one of the largest grocery store chains in the country and he stands to get millions of dollars if no one questions his marriage to Anna. But Anna’s life is vastly different from what West predicted it to be – she is not a medical student anymore, she’s been fired from her job at a convenience store and she’s drowning in debt. They strike an agreement to go to his sister’s wedding to get his family off his back about his mysterious wife. But when they get to the island, there are so many more odd family dynamics at play and they realize just how high the stakes are to convince everyone they’re still madly in love. Secrets from the past and a dad oblivious to his own arrogance threatens to destroy their facade.

Explicit romance scenes occur on page in Chapters 25 & 27 – there are plot points that occur in these chapters as well so if you wish to skip the explicit romance, you will need to skim the chapter to find where the plot picks back up.
