I read Reluctantly Royal by Erin Nicolle for the first time in March. I loved it so much that I signed up to receive an advanced copy of the audio in May. Listening to it let me appreciate the story in a new way and I fell more in love with Torin and Abigail’s story – it was a clear winner for May’s favorite book. The audio is fantastic! Jason Clarke’s accent for Torin was perfect and Shaina Summerville’s voice perfectly captured the shy and reserved Abby.
Reluctantly Royal is a perfect kick off to this series. I loved that there was a guide to the characters names and their relationships to one another before the story began so I could pronounce their names correctly and I already understood how they were connected. This is always a stumbling spot for me when starting off a new series, absorbing who is who and how they are all connected. The family tree let me sit with names, relationships and roles within this royal family straight before jumping in.
