DIY Valentine’s Day

I’m going to be completely honest right now. After the decoration overload of Christmas and then taking it all down I am done by the time Valentine’s Day rolls around. I would love to take a decor break until Summer (that’s my favorite season) but I absolutely LOVE Valentine’s Day! I think a big part of it is because my oldest daughter was born February 13th and she truly is my little love-child. She has the absolute biggest heart and is just so caring. So even though I would much rather skip decorating for this holiday I always make sure I add some simple DIY Valentine’s Day elements to our home.

Let me share with you a quick way to add a fun pop of LOVE to your home without having to do too much.

Materials:

  • Foam Heart Cut outs
  • Cotton Balls
  • Ribbon

Tools:

  • Glue Gun
  • Scissors

Start with two foam hearts. Add hot glue to the edge of 2/3 of the heart. Place the other heart on top and press together to attach.

Next stuff your heart with cotton balls. Once you’ve added your cotton balls add another dab of glue to close and seal the opening.

Once you have created your stuffed hearts attach your ribbon. You want to make sure that the top of the heart is completely attached to the ribbon to avoid it from tilting forward when you hang it.

*Make sure the ribbon is long enough to hang over your cabinets

This is an easy way to add a little DIY Valentine’s Day holiday flare to your home. Plus, you could actually use this same technique to create different holiday/seasonal decor throughout the year.

I was born and raised right here in Orlando and honestly I don’t think I could live anywhere else. I’ve been married to my wonderful husband for 14 years and we have two beautiful littles girls (8 & 4). We are a homeschooling family but I also work full-time as a Flight Attendant. When I’m not flying the friendly skies you can catch me creating! I absolutely love anything and everything DIY. My goal is to share with you guys fun craft activities that you can do with your kids but also great DIY projects for yourself as well.
