Why did I let this series sit on my TBR (to be read) list for so long?! This whole series is just so good. I love that they’re all set in Chicago – that is where my husband grew up and we spent a lot of time in the city when we were first dating, so it brought back such good memories for me. The Right Move is the second in the series, but you could read it as a standalone. You meet the main characters of The Right Move in the first book (Mile High) – Ryan is Stevie’s brother and Indy is her best friend. You also get glimmers of their personalities in the first book, but it’s not necessary to read Mile High first.
The Right Move Summary
Indy and her long time boyfriend break up and she finds herself needing a new place to live. Her best friend convinces Ryan to let her stay with him. Ryan is Chicago’s golden boy of basketball and he NEVER lets new people into his life, but there’s something about the spunky and wild Indy that he cannot ignore. She brings chaos into his apartment and he cannot bring himself to be bothered by it. Ryan eats, breathes and sleeps basketball so when his loyalty to the team is called into question, he lies to his General Manager that he has a serious girlfriend and his roots are firmly planted in Chicago. Ryan convinces Indy to go along with this fake dating scheme because she needs a date for a wedding with all her mutual friends with her ex. But all that togetherness and close proximity gives way to some very real feelings.

**I will note that some of the health issues that Indy is dealing with in this book can be a major trigger for some women – Liz Tomforde’s website has a list of content warnings if you’d like to be aware of those going into this story.**
