Just south of ICON Park off International Drive in Orlando, is quite possibly the most unique indoor amusement park I have ever been to. With a heavy emphasis on learning and science, WonderWorks is truly a destination just like Walt Disney World or Universal Studios.
The building itself is hilarious – it appears to be upside down! My girls laughed when they saw it and I just knew the day was only going to get better!
The lobby of WonderWorks is also amazing and plays into the upside down building outside – also keep in mind that all of the signage inside reflects this… so the “basement” is really the top floor!
Inside WonderWorks you can experience hurricane force winds (which just drove home with our girls why we do indeed need to stay indoors during a hurricane warning), how ice cold water changes an infrared scan of your body, interactive exhibits about outer space, moving sand box with ocean animals projected onto it, an indoor high ropes course (which was 100% not my jam) and so so much more!
There was plenty to do for my 3 and 5 year old – my husband and I even really got into a couple of the exhibits. We spent a couple of hours there and feel like we only scratched the surface of what it has to offer. They do have a cafeteria so you can spend most of the day there. You are not able to bring in outside food, so keep that in mind when you are planning your day. They do allow you to come and go as you please for the day you buy the ticket, so if you want to check out a restaurant close by or bring a lunch with you from home, that is an option!
Tickets can be purchased ahead of time and they often have discount codes you can use if you subscribe to their mailing list or if you live in Central Florida… so check out their website before you go to see if you can save yourself a little money!
