“Treat others how you wish to be treated.”
As my eldest daughter read The Golden Rule in the book of Matthew 7:12 before bed last night, I was reminded how so very simple it is to approach the current social conflicts we all are witnessing, feeling, and/or experiencing. A foundation on which we can build our activism and approaches to the manifestation of evil in our world today.
Regardless of what social reforms you strongly desire, questions and misunderstandings you may have, the color of your skin or the culture you represent, we can all agree that deep down we all desire to be accepted and respected by one another.
So when you don’t know the right words to say or what call to action you are to engage in, let’s make a choice to drop our politics, expectations, agendas etc and 👉get back to the basics👈, friend.
Listen without judgment in the way you want to be listened to without judgement.
Advocate for another in the same way you would want to be advocated for.
Rejoice and celebrate the victories of another..
Mourn with one another..
Respond with mercy and grace..
Accept and love one another just as we desire to be accepted and loved.
