An average of 76 million people visit Central Florida each year! While most of them come for the main tourist attractions, like the theme parks and I-Drive, The City Beautiful and the surrounding areas in Central Florida have SO much to offer! If you are sticking around for Spring Break in Central Florida, you’re in luck! We’ve created a list of unique, affordable, and local outings that make Central Florida such a great place to live, work and play.

For the adventurers
- Go berry picking! We love Amber Brooke Farms because there is so many things to do after the berry picking! But there are so many places in Central Florida to berry pick, try to go to as many as you can!
- DeLeon Springs State Park. From breakfast to kayaking, this is a great local adventure!
- Check out Gatorland! So much fun for all ages and there is a splash pad to cool down too!
- Head over to Dezerland Park for an indoor adventure with go karts, laser tag and so much more!
- Orlando Wetlands. A perfect family outing for wildlife viewing, and a nature experience.
- RDV Ice Den. Dig out your coat and gloves and tie on a pair of ice skates for open skate at RDV.
- Have a blast at the Museum of Illusions at ICON Park! There’s over 50 exhibits that offer more eye-fooling fun under one roof than any other destination in Central Florida.
- Mini Golf. One of the perks of living in such a popular tourist destination is MINI GOLF! Pirates Cove is well-kept and has two locations in the I-Drive area. We also recommend Congo River Golf.
- Bowling. Call a friend, find an alley near your house, and get there early. You’ll find wide open lanes and an hour (or more) of fun for the kids while you sit back and catch up with your gal pal. We love Keg Social because there is an arcade and ping pong tables too!
- Tip: call ahead to make sure you don’t visit during league time. I did this and the kids were so disappointed because we could not bowl there!
- Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens. If you haven’t visited this local zoo, you’re missing out. Absolutely worth the trip!
For water lovers
- Sail Cocoa Beach. Experience the Space Coast like never before on a catamaran sailing excursion. They are offering kids sail free on day sails with the purchase of an adult ticket.
- The Swan Boats! Give your legs a workout and catch a unique view of the downtown Orlando skyline. Paddleboats are available for rent from 10am to 7pm (or later) and hold up to five people.
- Head to the beach! A day trip to the beach is always a good idea! Pack some snacks and sunscreen and make a day of it!

Springs and State Parks. One of my favorite places to take out-of-town guests is to a closeby spring. These hidden gems are all throughout Central Florida. You’ll want to know the best time to arrive, and what to take. Blue Spring info can be found here, or enjoy the Pancake house at DeLeon Springs!
For those that never stop learning
- Visit your local library! With over 20 branches around Central Florida, the library is a great way to spend an afternoon or two over break. Orange County branches can be found here, and Seminole County branches can be found here!
- WonderWorks! Kids can try to stand in hurricane-force winds, lie on a bed of nails, float through the ocean in a virtual submarine, and get trapped inside a giant bubble!
- The Orlando Science Center. Engaging break camps that give children a productive and fun way to spend their time off from school with a chance to learn more about STEM in an exciting, interactive environment. Campers will explore a variety of hands-on science topics in a classroom setting and outdoors!
- The Orange County Regional History Center. Located in the heart of downtown Orlando, the History Center is smart, surprising and fun. Best suited for school-aged children.
- Mad Science! Interactive and engaging for kids of all ages. Kids get to explore different fields of science in fun, hands on ways!
For the artsy
- Download busy packets from Beeloo! We have partnered with them to create Orlando themed crossword puzzles, coloring pages and more! There are tons of different categories too!
- The Orlando Museum of Art. With an incredible kids’ section and a healthy collection of art from all periods, the OMA is a fantastic jewel in The City Beautiful‘s crown.
- Nailed It DIY Studios. Let them inspire your child with a unique DIY camp this spring break! Campers explore their creativity throughout the week and will complete a wide variety of projects.
For the mom that needs a break
Let the kids explore (while you sit and watch!) …
- Indoor play space! There are so many to choose from, you could spend the whole spring break in the air conditioning!
- Some water fun. Check out our list of local splash pads! There’s bound to be one near you!
- One of Orlando’s wonderful parks. Meet up with some of your girlfriends for a “Stroller Date” at a local park. Here’s some info about a few of our favorites. But there’s so much more, including Azalea Lane (Winter Park), Lake Lily Park (Maitland), R.D.Keene Park (Windermere), Eastmonte Park (Altamonte), Maitland Community Park (Maitland), Chapin Station (Winter Park), Delaney Park (Downtown), Friendship Park (Oviedo), Tanja King Park (Avalon Park) and Minehaha Park (Maitland) — just to name just a few!
