2024 was a great year for reading for me. I read 259 different books and a handful of rereads of some of my favorite books of all time. We read 12 different books in Book Club and I cannot wait to see what good books we discover in 2025.
And because I make my own rules around here, my list wasn’t limited to only 10 because I simply cannot choose and after I was 99% done with this post I added two more to the list – because I finished out the year with two AMAZING audio books… and again, I make my own rules.
In no particular order, here are my favorite books of 2024…
Manacled by SenLinYu: A dark Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger fan fic that reimagines what the wizarding world would have been like if Voldemort had won.
Lights Out by Navessa Allen: A dark romantic comedy (trust me, it is both laugh out loud funny and dark) about a woman who finally meets her online crush. (eBook, paperback, audio)
Without You by Marley Valentine: An emotional MM romance that beautifully explores grief, understanding and acceptance. (ebook, paperback, audio)
The Sinner: A spicy, billionaire romance with expertly done suspense elements. (ebook, paperback, audio)
Just Between Us by Lena Hendrix: A small town romance where the big city girl meets the grumpy small town man and they discover that they have an unexpected connection. (ebook, paperback, audio)
Heathen & Honeysuckle by Sarah A. Bailey: A wonderfully done second chance romance between a runaway bride and her first love. (ebook, paperback)
Snapshot by Kay Cove: A marriage of convenience between two best friends who discover how previous generations shaped their lives in more ways than they ever realized. (ebook, paperback, audio)
Force Play by Lo Everett: A second chance, professional baseball romance between the funny guy and the girl with a truck load of baggage that has some of the best banter I have ever read in a book. (ebook, paperback)
Dead Man Walking by Giana Darling: The story of how the motorcycle club’s morally gray enforcer falls for the delicate and yet dark ex-mayor’s daughter. (ebook, paperback, audio)
Play Along by Liz Tomforde: A drunken Vegas wedding years in the making. (ebook, paperback, audio)
Salt by LA Ferro: A forbidden romance that kept me guessing until the final pages. (ebook, paperback)
Business Casual by BK Borison: An unexpected romance between the town’s tattoo artist and the big city boy. (ebook, paperback, audio)
Saint by Sierra Simone: An emotional MM, second chance romance that explores depression and how our reactions to our own mental health can have a ripple effect further than we could imagine. (ebook, paperback, audio)
So This is War by Meghan Quinn: A hockey romance between the team’s funny guy and the coach’s only daughter as she becomes his roommate and assistant. (ebook, paperback, audio)
Crossroads by Devney Perry: A stunning second chance romance on a resort in Montana. (ebook, paperback, audio)
Stand and Defend by Sloane St. James: A super spicy hockey romance that finds a runaway bride and her ex’s best man living together. (ebook, paperback, audio)
11:11 by Micalea Smeltzer: A reverse age-gap romance between the newly divorced woman who moved to town to get away from her old life and her much younger one night stand. (ebook, paperback, audio)
The Proposal Play: Two best friends act on their marriage pact as a part of their big adventure for the year and put on the act when they get home only to realize their marriage isn’t all for show. (ebook, paperback, audio)
The Path to Loving Him: My favorite Meghan Quinn book of all time – A one night stand with her new boss turned landlord and co-worker, finds Gabby breaking down the walls of the new single dad. (ebook, paperback, audio)
