August’s Book of the Month is Left of Forever by Tara DeWitt!
I’ve been challenging myself to read new authors each month or read new books of authors I have only read one or two of their books before. I read her book, The Co-op, months back and for some reason just never went back to read more.
I also have been chasing the book high that was reading Devney Perry’s book Letters to Molly, about a divorced couple reconnecting and reconciling. A good friend who also loved Devney’s take on this trope, recommended Left of Forever after listening to it. So I put it on hold at the library, and when I tell you I listened to this book one Sunday, I am not at all kidding. Ellis and Wren are full of some sort of magic and I don’t think you’ll be able to put them down either.
It is important to note that some of Ellis and Wren’s story focuses on the infertility they experienced when attempting to grow their family. It is a major point of angst in their relationship and while the actual experiences with infertility happens off page, they do discuss it at length, multiple times along their way to reconnecting.
Left of Forever Summary:
Years after their divorce, Ellis and Wren are facing their only son’s graduation from high school. Ellis invites Wren on a road trip to allow them time to celebrate everything they have accomplished as young parents. Wren agrees to go with him and their seven days on the road become just the thing they need to really face their demons and talk through what went wrong in their marriage.
