November’s Book of the Month is My Favorite Holidate by Lauren Blakely!
Fable and Wilder are the perfect story to kick off the holiday season. Their story seamlessly blends tropes like boss/employee, fake dating and forced proximity into this beautiful story about leaning into love when it shows itself to you and not believing the narrative that you are unworthy of that love and devotion in return. Their story is full of fun holiday moments all while bringing the best combination of pining, banter, friends and romance.
This full cast audio is top tier – I love each of the narrators and the group conversations are brought to life in this cast recording. I will listen to this year after year!
My Favorite Holidate Summary:
Despite discovering that her boyfriend is cheating on her at Thanksgiving, Fable is going into the Christmas holiday optimistic that she will have a nice holiday. Her boss, Wilder, needs a date to a Christmas Eve wedding – so they decide to go as a fake couple.
This is a great introduction to Lauren’s world, with only cameos (and little to no spoilers about the other couples) from other books – if you’ve never read anything by her, this is a good place to start!
