I have been waiting for this book since the moment I finished the last book in this series. Aleks and Mia have some of my favorite tropes (childhood friends, fake dating/engagement, forced proximity) done by one of my all time favorite authors. We met Aleks in the last book when he was traded to the Tampa Ospreys and we’ve heard all about everyone’s favorite pop star (and Aleks’ best friend), Mia Love. Haven’t started this series, but you like the sound of Mia and Aleks’ story? It’s a complete standalone with little spoilers to the first three books! Kandi’s writing is emotional and captivating – I couldn’t take these two out of my ears. A huge thanks to Kandi and her team at Good Girls PR for the early listening copy of Save Your Breath.

Save Your Breath Summary:

Mia is on the verge of releasing her newest album, but early reviews from a journalist who is friends with her ex threaten to ruin the album before it’s out. Her publicist develops a plan to rewrite the narrative around the implications that her music is about a girl stuck on her ex – a new, sizzling relationship. Her best friend is the only one she can trust to pull off the stunt. Aleks Suter is on thin ice (pun intended) with his hockey team because of yet another off the ice fiasco, so he’s quick to agree to the idea from Mia and her team. But as a hurricane heads for Tampa, Aleks and Mia find themselves stuck together and forced to face their real feelings.
