Being a sports mom is a unique and rewarding experience! It’s a role that goes beyond cheering on my boys from the sidelines. It’s about being their biggest supporter, their cheerleader, their sideline doc, and sometimes, their therapist.
As a sports mom, I have learned that there is some essential gear that I need to navigate each season like a champ, ensuring both my athletes and I are comfortable and ready for anything this season has to throw at us!
Essentials for Every Game:
- The Mighty Bag: Invest in a sturdy, spacious bag with compartments to organize all your essentials. Consider features like water resistance and a comfortable strap for easy carrying. I love my Bogg Bag — it is large enough to hold it all, and it is weather resistant!
- Hydration Heroes: Pack reusable water bottles for you and your athlete and I pack a back up for refills too, and don’t forget a cooler or cooler bag for keeping drinks and snacks chilled on hot days.
- Sun Safety Saviors: Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are non-negotiable, regardless of the season. We opt for broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher.
- First Aid Fundamentals: Be prepared for minor scrapes and bumps with a well-stocked first-aid kit from Keep Going.
- Staying Comfy: Pack a portable chair, a blanket for cooler days, a neck cooling towel or ring for warm days, and a small umbrella for unexpected showers. We also pack Body Glide for those unexpected chafing moments.
