Are you as clueless as I am when it comes to what to DO for Father’s Day? What is there to do for Father’s Day? Spend it together? Give him free time to do guy stuff? Do something new, something you know he loves? Or just do your normal routine with the addition of a tasty steak dinner?
The best answer is… ASK HIM! If his answer is vague, here are some ideas to suggest. OR if you want to surprise him with a weekend full of activities, look no further than our What To Do for Father’s Day list! Hopefully hubby AKA Dad will see how much you and the little one(s) love and care about him!
1. Spend Some Time at the Springs!
Rather than hitting the beach, visit a spot a little closer to home! Check out Deleon Springs State Park, Blue Spring State Park or Wekiwa State Park. Have you checked out WeKiva Island? It’s just down the road from the state park is a great place where locals like to kick back and listen to music while the kids jump in the spring. You can rent canoes and paddle with the family on the water, followed by a drink from the tiki bar. You can also rent a cabana for a little privacy with the ability to cook out with your own grill. If you decide to venture to Deleon Springs, I say go early and hit breakfast for a new experience at the famous Old Spanish Sugar Mill Grill and Griddle House! All of the springs fill up fast, so be sure to get there early to avoid sad faces and frustration. *Due to COVID-19, there may be some restrictions, so be sure to check with the Springs before heading out for a day of fun!
2. Farmers Market, Splash Pad and Lunch!
Go to one of Central Florida’s splash pads! Bring a chair and let the little ones run with daddy through the water! Or check out one of the many Farmer’s Markets in Greater Orlando! You can experience the fresh strawberry lemonade, kettle corn or food trucks! *Due to COVID-19, there may be some restrictions, so be sure to check with your local splash pad and farmer’s market before heading out for a day of fun!
3. Plan a Dad Kind of Day at Home!
What does your husband love on the grill? Steak? Maybe burgers and dogs?! Well that’s it! Set up the inflatable pool, pick up his favorite beer, meats for grilling and maybe even a fun dessert for him and the kids to get messy and eat out back. The kicker is, Dad is not doing the grilling. Let him play, hang out and watch kids while you cook up some tasty grub on the grill, set up picnic in the back yard and enjoy!
Happy Father’s Day!
