Summer is here and with lots of fun in the sun to be had, the excitement is ramping up!! We try to avoid reading loss over the summer, so we found some fun ways to get in some reading over the summer!
**Don’t forget that audio books are great for those summer road trips too!**

Orange County Library System Summer Reading Program 2026 – Summer at Your Library
Participate in Orange County Library System’s annual Summer at Your Library: Color Our World. Gather around to explore fun activities and events at a branch near you! Programs, classes and events will continue to be offered both in-person and online. Registration starts on Friday, May 1.
Here’s what to do:
- Spread your love for reading with a book from our Summer Booklists for Early Learners, Kids and Teens.
- Read for at least 20 minutes every day!
- Sign up for Beanstack and log your minutes online, or use the English, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, and Spanish paper reading tracker.
- Starting July 15, kids ages 0-18 who complete 300 minutes of reading can visit their local branch for a Goodie Bag, while supplies last.
- Learn more about the youth Grand Prize Giveaway at the End of Summer Celebration!
- View the online calendar to register for upcoming programs and events.
Sign up for an OCLS card or visit any of our Orange County Library locations to register for a library card in person.

SCPS Let’s Read, Seminole County
Let’s Read, Seminole encourages students to continue reading during the summer months and delivers books throughout Seminole County on the Bookmobile. Students may participate in this program even if they are unable to visit the Big Red Bus. To participate, visit the Bookmobile, SCPS OverDrive, or a local library to select your next reading adventure! As you read, remember to add each book to the reading log. At the end of the summer, turn in the reading log(s) to your school or submit an online district reading log for a chance to win a District prize!

Scholastic Summer Reading Project
The Scholastic Summer Reading program offers kids an exciting, free, and safe summer reading experience, while helping to provide books to kids with limited or no access over the summer, keeping every child reading.
